My little princesses- Personal work

These are my two wonderful models, I recently shot this picture of Suhana and Sanjana, I did something very unusual for this shot, I wanted to test a old vivtar flash of mine as a with the SB800.
Equipment used for this shot is Canon 5d MarkII body, 24mm-105mm lens. Nikon SB-800 and Vivitar flash. I set the SB800 on su4 as a remote flash and placed it behind suhana that is camera right. then i had the vivitar on my camera and setup on a low output and sb800 manually set up low zoomed in. I really don't have to do anything to pose them, they are both very natural.. Lighting in this shot makes all the diffrence. Looking forward for your inputs and comments.

Behind the scenes from Glamour Makeover and Photo-shoot

Here is the video from our first ever Glam makeover and photo-shoot. This was the first time that we had opened the studio to any apart from models, We came up with this wonderful idea to open our studio doors to all the beautiful ladies who are so busy in there life that they never think about themselves they are always about other people and i personally think that truly are the most beautiful of all.
We had a month to prepare market and perform . Me and pj decided to combine this project with our very talented Make up artist Mariluz west.  She loved the idea and right away got hooked on to it .
We started marketing it on Facebook and created a special events page and send invites to all the friends on our Facebook.
We got a amazing response to our invites and i got filled with gratitude with the love and affection everyone showered on us. I never expected it to be such a huge hit. with in week we almost filled all the spots.
I wanted to give all these beautiful ladies a wonderful experience and above all the best pictures of there life. I was ready to make them look glamourous, gorgeous, slimmer and younger. In fact a experience which would be even better than going to spa. I have so many stories to tell from this shoot which i will surely be sharing with you all on my blog but quickly let me tell you about Bernice and her beautiful daughter Alyassa, who came for the shoot because there mother had gifted the shoot to her daughter and grand daughter.  Bernice told me that her pictures never come out good and she is not at all comfortable in front of the camera. Firstly I loved the feel of the family how the grandmother had send her daughter and grand daughter for the shoot the connection in between both mother and daughter was amazing secondly i was challenged to make her look good not only good i had promised myself to give these wonderful ladies the best pictures of there life.
I created a set with grey seamless backdrop two lights setups with medium sized soft boxes and my favorite reflectors. Check out the videos and do give me your feedack

Fashion shoot tips

Preparation for Glamour Makeover & Photo Shoot
by Philadelphia Fashion Photographer Vikrant Tunious

On July 28th Saturday  and july 29 sunday Vikrant Tunious Photography and Mariluz west are joining hands and doing a special event for all the models, It is a unique opportunity for every one to come and get a great makeover and photo shoot done by the award winning team. I thought that it would be a good idea to give every one some shoot preparation tips so that you can get some great pictures.

Practice! Practice! Practice!

Even top models spend time in front of the mirror –practicing expressions and poses.

First, it’s important to know how you feel from within when give an expression and pose. Make yourself feel the mood that you are expressing. Then make a couscous effort to make your pose and expression attractive.

When you are shooting with me, I will guide you in posses but it is always important to have practiced your known poses.

Look
Select your outfits and write a detailed list of the styles and colors that you have put together, add specific shoes and accessories to your list.
If you have not yet decided on your look please call up PJ at 215-990-8616 and she will help you with your look.

Props: Think of props that you can bring to match your outfits. Props make a photo more believable and also give you something else to do with your hands.

Examples of props: any musical instrument, like guitar, guys can carry a cigar, hat, laptop for formal look; anything can be a prop etc. Go for anything, which will compliment your look.

2- 3 days before the shoot

Wax or shave your legs and armpits 3 days prior to a shoot if you are modeling swimwear be sure you hit the bikini line. This is also the time to be sure your facial hair is under control. Don’t have your facial hair waxed in the three days prior to your shoot in order to allow for irritation to disappear.

Check your hair to see if it needs a trim and make sure your hairdresser knows what you want. If your hair is dry opt for a deep conditioning treatment. If you color your hair get refresher or have your roots done.

Do not try a new hair color/style or beauty treatment before the shoot.
Get your nails done. Generally short and neutral (nude polish or a French manicure) is the desired look.

Hair:  Please come with your hair done prior to your schedule time.

Things you might need:
·      Headband, rubber bands, bobby pins
·      Brushes, combs
·      Any other hair product which you think you might need

Skin: Skin cleanser and moisturizer (arrive bare faced for the shoots with makeup artist)
should they be use skin cleanser and moisturizer or bring it with them?

Some other good tips:
Get plenty of sleep before the shoot.
Drink plenty of water. Avoid salty foods and alcohol prior to a shoot so that you are not puffy on the day of the shoot.
Sleep at least eight hours a night for the three days prior to your shoot.

* Remember great commercial photographs aren’t accidents- they require planning. Here is and example of one of our makeover shoot by Vikrant Tunious photography. FOR MORE OF OUR WORK PLEASE VISIT www.vikranttunious.com

Funny little skit but very true

Alyson

One of my all time beauty favorites.. we had a lot of planing and execution in this single shot. When we were looking to cast the model for this we went through a lot of models until Mariluz recommend Alyson to us and we all loved her look, and zeroed her, unfortunately on the day of the shoot Alyson was not feeling well and we got worried but like a true professional she still completed the shoot and did a great job... Will had done such a amazing job with hair, cutting it and making it so perfect and Mariluz as always painting her canvas as a masterpiece... My challenge was to make sure the lighting is same for all three shots an her positing is perfect.. Pj as always gave the special creative input and direction. I want to give little tip to view the picture while viewing this pic start looking at it from left to right and you will see something special..... Enjoy viewing it as much as i enjoyed shooting it.. Dont forget to  ♥ like it on my facebook page....

When we cant speak what we want too

The concept of this picture is when someone want’s to say something which is inside of them yet cannot speak it because of pear pressure, so we thought how we can represent that closing of mouth with something was a option then we thought how about making the lips outside on the hands
