Latest editorial work in the Spring 2014 The Fashion Issue of In Bliss Magazine

This is exciting news as I just saw the new Spring 2014 Fashion issue of In Bliss where I shot for the cover story.  Shoot was very interesting as it was shot inside of the The University of Pennsylvania  Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology inside of the lower Egypt sections. You talk about a backdrop and here is a an amazing backdrop for a beautiful romantic shot. Right in Philadelphia we have a 3000 year old sphinx recreated so we did not have to travel to Giza. We did a some ceremony images and then romantic images. Light wise I had a large octadome as the key light for the ceremony images with filing in form sides. The biggest issue I had was the ambient light which was tungsten and flour flourcent, Once you mix in the studio lights it can get muggy, so the trick here was to match the ambient light and fill in carefully with our strobes to that I we don't loose the effect of ambience and still get a warm and daylight corrected image, I did not want to change the color temp in post. I like to work in the given situation and make the most out of it. This is how I was bread back in the days when I started photography I used to shoot all film that too transparencies for which your exposure had to be 100% that upbringing really taught me a lot as a photographer which I benefit even till date.   2nd shot where both our models are in front of the sphinx, Key light is right behind me and the three other fill lights are strategically placed behind the columns to light up the entire room and get a good depth of field.  please leave your feedback and if you have any questions please feel free to get in touch with me.

Creative Hair Photography

I recently shot a very creative hair shoot for my Fav Hair Stylist's upcoming art show, We have together produced the Dark queens project in which we shot different queens from history. This was very interesting shoot unfortunately I can't post all the images until her art show. I will share one of the behind the scenes shot from the shoot.
For one of the image we had used 4 lights 3 large reflectors and one small reflector, frosted plexi glass,  Key light in front of the model Hair light overhead light with color gel for warm blue texture edge light to separate the back light and two 9'feet reflectors to box the model from sides and front bounce.... I will be showing the image once her show is over. I love to  hair photography weather it is for a commercial client or personal project.  To see more of hair photography please visit my website www.vikranttunious.com
