Unboxing and review of Canon 5d Mark III imported Version purchased from Ebay store

Recently I added another camera body to my aresnal which is Canon 5d mark III, Initially I was confused in between 5D mark III or  Canon EOS-1D X after carefully looking at my requirements I decided to go with the Mark III.  As an Indian one thing runs in my blood is the quest to find the best deal, lol, so I started hunting making phone calls to my local dealers, checked on B&H surfed the web, when my search took me to the ocean of Ebay, I realized that the same camera was listed at about $600 -$700 cheaper than the local guys, I read more called these ebay stores asked my local guys if they can match that prize which they could not, the quest was why these guys online can sell it so much more cheaper than my local dealers. The answer is that they are selling the international or imported version as oppose to the USA version. Canon actually distributes the same camera at a much higher cost in the USA compared to some of the other international destinations. There are some dealers who import the international version sell it in USA at a much cheaper cost, I have even heard that B&H sometimes sell the imported version which they clearly state is the imported version.

Now the next question arose what's the difference in between these two bodies so I found out that the difference is really the warranty on this product. imported one does not have a 1yr manufactures warranty on it for any defects. As a prior Canon user I know that they bodies very rarely will go bad, They have a strict quality control and check system which all these bodies go through before they land in the bazar. I further did more research and found that all these cameras are made in JAPAN in the same Canon factory with the same parts and same quality.  I also called one of my friends who works for Canon in Dubai and he confirmed all my quires and gave me a green flag to buy the imported version. The ebay store I bought it from also sells an extended warranty for 3 years on the this body which not only covers manufacturing defects it also covers accidental damages. This pretty much sealed the deal for me and made my purchase. I have tested the camera it works great. I also made a video which shows the unboxing of this camera so that it can help someone else like me who is trying to make up there mind. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
