Photoshoot for Modern Frock's sprint summer collection

One of my latest Commercial photo shoot for Modern frocks Sprint summer collection, This was a great shoot from start to beginning.  Some of you might think how is a commercial Fashion photo shoot done?  here is a brief overview of our workflow.
After our initial client meetings we like to finish up with all the required paper work in regards to the production. Then we schedule a creative meeting with the client, myself creative director and stylist, On the day of our creative meeting we look through the products, understand clients needs and what they would like us to do based on those things we then start a story board or mood board for the photo shoot. We also schedule our shoot date. I personally like to come up with at least 3 creative ideas to shoot for the line. once we have our clients agreement on the approved idea we start working on it. The next step after this is to cast our models for the shoot. We like to use our local modeling agencies like Wilhelmina of PA, MMA, and Reinhardt, these are 3 good reputable modeling agencies in Philadelphia. For this particular shoot we got submissions from all three agencies at the end we casted 3 models one from each one of them.  professional Makeup artist is hired  Hair stylist is hired . We prepare for all the required props for the shoot, all the accessories are carried by the stylist who helps us put together the looks. Modernfrock.com has very elegant outfits created by elegant designers.  Apart form shooting for there catalog I shot some editorial style images which we had suggested them to use as there opening images on there website.  I will happily answer to your  questions.

Photo Shoot for Fortune India

I got commissioned to shoot the Cover story on "Cognizant" by Fortune India.  I am always excited about any new project and slightly nervous have jitters until I finish my job. This project was special, how often you get to shoot a portrait of  a CEO who has 1,65,000 emoplyees globally and is leading a $8.8 billion company. Preparation is the key for any good shoot.  I always like to  do my research and try to get myself familiar  with the person I am shooting.  As an in-house magazine photographer and Photo editor in my past I know it is very important to discuss the story with the writer, understand there perspective towards the story and then create the visuals for them. Special thanks to Bandeep Singh for bridging that gap and give me all the required Information.  Day of the shoot me and my assistant Taylor got to there office at 8:00 am to do our location Reiki  and setup for the first portrait of Steve Skinner, Senior VP. I found a good graphic location in there Cafe area, we quickly did our setup and also got prepared for the next shot of Patricia Birch,VP  Healthcare Consulting. Followed by Mark Livingston, who is a great sport, Then we shot with Malcolm Frank another great personality. Finally the coolest CEO of all Francisco D'Souza. I have to share this with you, I was assigned to do a shot of Frank with his shoes on the table, When I discussed this with, "Ram" who was our cordinator said no way, He will never do that. I got worried  because that was an image asked of me to do by the photo editor.  I had already planned 3 locations to shoot with him, Francisco walked in the conference room which was our first location, I was ready and did the first portrait of him leaning on one of the tables by the window so that I can get some images with just my strobe and some mixed in with the ambient light. Now came the turn to ask him to pose with the legs on the table, and Mr cool as a great sport just did it.. I was looking at Ram and he was looking at Taylor and we were all were so ecstatic but we kept our calm and stayed focus, Quickly went into the next image and then the next, Came to found out that Francisco himself is a photography enthusiast he loves taking pictures and supports my camera 5d mark3... I had a great time and felt blessed..

My New found Love with ,"Instagram"

It's been a long time that I wrote on my blog, week after week my alarm goes off on Thursday and Sunday reminding me of going to my blog and vent out my thoughts and creativity. Do you ever ask yourself How can Instagram help my business? How to create a following on Instagram? Last year  it began with lots of high tides and low tides, gladly towards the end of the year it was all so smooth, This is year I feel blessed and has been one of my best years as a processional photographer. Just recently I shared a thought on my Facebook page, this what it said," Your Vision is yours, Few will come to enhance it and Few will come to denounce it". What I want to say is that keep complete focus on your vision and goals do not let any one tell you what you should do and what you should not do. As an artist we get opinions from everyone around us, what we have to really understand and master is that no one can should influence my creativity and thoughts. unless you are true and purely say what comes from your heart it will not touch others. So my new found love is Instagram, I resisted from it thinking, oh man I will have to crop my images and it will loose its originality, one of my good friends Brandon who is the editor of, "American Dreaming Magazine". Told me why are you not using Instagram, it's the best way to reach out to people as a photographer and generate more clients, I started exploring through my images started reshaping my creativity the crop which I was afraid of gave my images a new dimension and I started posting new images, it feels as if these are all new shots, I have always loved the square format now it's there for me. I am enjoying Instagram more  and more. Soon I am planning to start a new section on my website, www.vikrantphotography.com called Instagram crops, I am actually still deciding what name, What name should i give to this Instagram folder on my website?  As a Philadelphia based fashion and beauty photographer I get across such talented people who will always Inspire me So to all my great friends who are reading this suggest me with a name? Follow me on Instagram @VikrantPhotography and on Twitter @vtunious
